Colin Kaepernick has made his parents proud.

Not everyone has been a fan of Colin Kaepernick's decision to kneel during the national anthem in protest of America's systemic racism. No matter what the pundits have to say, it's good to know that the football player's parents respect their son for his decisions. After being silent on the issue, Teresa and Rick Kaepernick have finally come around to make a statement. Here's part of what they had to say:

"Colin is carrying a heavy load and following a difficult path that he truly believes in. He is putting his entire future and possibly his life on the line for those beliefs ... As his parents, it pains us to read articles and tweets saying that his family does not support him; this could not be further from the truth. We want people to know that we are very proud of our son and admire his strength and courage in kneeling for the rights of others."

Colin Kaepernick was adopted by Teresa and Rick Kaepernick when he was 5 weeks old. Colin had been given away by his biological mother.

In other news, there are serious problems with America's police forces.
