Fresh off the release of his eleventh studio album, Common decides to come through today and share a new short film in its support named after itself called “Black America Again.” Running 21-minutes in length, the powerful new video pays tribute to Freddie Gray and finds Common spitting his rhymes in the streets of Chicago, while taking viewers on a visual tour of the Windy City in the process. Common's new video "Black America Again" begins with footage of the Alton Sterling that sets the tone for a montage of weeping black Americans. Common communicates urgency in his lament for the cycle of violence and oppression that plagues Black America. "Trayvon will never get to be an older man / Black children, their childhood stole from them," he raps. The song's all-star behind the scenes cast that includes production by Karriem Riggins and Robert Glasper, bass by Esperanza Spalding, and ad-libs by Chuck D and MC Lyte.

The promotion for "Barbershop: The Next Cut" has been in full swing. Following Common and Ice Cube's Good Morning America visit to promote the movie, which also stars Nicki Minaj, Cedric The Entertainer, JB Smoove, Tyga and more, the two rappers-slash-actors headed to Jimmy Fallon. Last night Cube and Common were the musical guests on Fallon, where they performed the funky, feel-good number, "Real People," off the film's soundtrack. They were backed by The Roots, who also helped on the vocal tip, creating quite an impressive performance. Watch it above.
