Sounds Like 40 Only Just Put The Finishing Touches On Drake's "Views From The 6"
Anyone who's closely followed Drake and 40's process know that its always down to the wire when it comes album submission time. Now that albums are generally released digitally before getting a physical pressing, they technically have a little more time to finish up all the mastering, but naturally, things were still very last minute this time around.
Review: dvsn's "Sept. 5th"
Somewhere along the way, mainstream R&B's relationship with sex changed. It's still a central theme in the vast majority of the genre, but the offhand, casual way in which it's usually referenced these days stands in sharp contrast with the reverence it was awarded up until the mid-2000s. This isn't a question of morals, though it may seem that way, because even if it was a known Lothario like R. Kelly singing about pleasures of the flesh on "Bump N' Grind" in '93, he made it sound like a holy pursuit.
5 Things We Want From PartyNextDoor's "P3"
It's been a fast year for OVO so far, beginning with Drake's "Summer Sixteen." All eyes were directed toward Views from the 6, which is, finally, set to arrive next month. There hasn't been another taste of Views since, though OVO has kept its name out there with the release of the self-titled debut album from Majid Jordan as well as the signing of the anonymous R&B act dvsn.

Lots of exciting stuff going down on Instagram this week. We also got a brief update on Drake's Views From The 6 through a photo of Drizzy's creative partner, 40, stocking up with supplies to camp out in the studio (and to keep it Canadian, a Tim Horton's cup in hand).

Mysterious R&B Act dvsn Appears To Have Signed With OVO Sound
We still don't know much about dvsn, other than the act works with "Hotline Bling" producer Nineteen85 and they've released a few impressive traditionally-informed R&B singles, but today they've just been given a big look, seemingly pairing with Drake's label, OVO Sound.

While we wait for Drake’s official response from last night’s comments made by Meek Mill, his go-to producer, 40, has decided to break his silence and voice his opinion on the controversy. Taking to twitter, 40 reminds everyone that Quentin Miller was indeed credited on Drake’s last album, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, making him not much of a ghostwriter at all. Defending his OVO boss fully, 40 also went on to say that “no one is as talented as Drake,” and that its not worth his time to work with other rappers.
