The XXXTentacion and Ski Mask The Slump God drama can be hard to follow if you're new to it. Once friends, now enemies and, potentially, now friends again (?), the rappers have gone through their fair share of ups and downs over the past few weeks. With all that said, their current relationship status doesn't mean that X is about to diminish Ski Mask's talent as an emcee, nor his place in Florida's hierarchy of solid young hip-hop talent.

In a video interview with DJ Akademiks, XXXTentacion not only said that his supposed foe shouldn't be relegated to the role of "sidekick" by pundits on the rap scene anymore, but that he deserves his rightful place alongside the likes of himself, Kodak Black and Lil Pump as the most tantalizing young talent that the state of Florida has to offer hip-hop fans right now. In essence, X believes they are equals. Check out his entire video below.

"That's my brother," XXXTentacion said. "I ain't seen my brother in months my n**** [...] because people keep f**king with his pride and his ego," he added, expressing frustration with the fact that pointed comments made by the haters out there could've tarnished the way not only that Ski Mask now sees him, but also how his fellow rapper sees himself.

At this point, there's no telling which way this Florida rap saga will turn out, but one thing's for sure: in at least one way, XXXTentacion has his contemporary's back. What do you think? Are XXX and Ski Mask musical equals? Let us know in the comments.
