Late this past week, it was reported that Ski Mask the Slump God had reached out publicly and invited XXXTentacion to be a part of his new mixtape project that is currently in the works. Despite their recent feuding, it was an opportunity for the two rappers to bury the hatchet and go back to the days when they were close friends and, creatively speaking, hip-hop confidantes in a way. However, based on X's response, it's a team-up that won't be happening anytime soon.

The 17 emcee took to Instagram to express his vehement disinterest in working with Ski Mask on his upcoming tape, trying to conjure up some intimidation at the same time. "My response to the request for the song by Ski is no," he said. "I am going to destroy all of these rappers, none of them are friends to me, they don't give a f**k about me they just want my energy." Check out the full post below.

It stands to reason that XXXTentacion would be wary of collab offers at this stage in his career, with his precarious legal situation contributing to his name being used in industry tabloid headlines for the past few months. Perhaps X thinks that Ski Mask is drawn more to the controversial buzz that this kind of studio teaming would result in, instead of the Florida native's rapping abilities. There's no real way to know for sure, but any partnership between these two, especially in the studio, seems like a long shot at best.
