The top of the month marked the arrival of Troy Ave’s Style 4 Free 2 mixtape as the New York-bred emcee dropped off a full-length 12-track outing that included flips of tracks like Drake’s “God’s Plan” and Cardi B’s “Be Careful.”
One flip included a sample of Brand Nubian’s “Slow Down” to create a new track of the same name. Produced by YK 808 Mafia, the cut is more fitting for barbecue and sundress weather and is now paired with an appropriate new music video as the summer season officially gets underway.
While the concept is relatively simple with Troy letting loose on his bars while posted up on a Ferrari with a baddie on his arm, the infusion of vibrant graphic effects is what gives this video its alluring spin.
