Tiffany Haddish will soon receive some prestigious recognition.

There's no denying Tiffany Haddish's sudden rise to fame in what seemed like a blink of an eye. Although the actress had a few roles in past movies and series - New Girl, My Name Is Earl and It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia - the 38-year-old really hit the ground running when Girls Trip was released in July of 2017.

The film, that follows a group of best friends heading to New Orleans for a much-needed vacation, was Tiffany's break out role as she dominated her performance starring alongside greats such as Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Regina Hall. Ever since then she's been taking over headlines and even released a book on her life and scored probably her most favourite gig - being the official ambassador for Groupon.

The latest gig surrounding the star is that she will be honoured at the upcoming Black Women in Hollywood awards as one of Essence magazine's "game-changers." The ceremony will take place on March 1st in Beverly Hills and will also honour The Chi creator and Master of None actress Lena Waithe as she was the first black woman to win an Emmy for comedy writing just last year.
