After Soulja Boy’s interview with DJ Vlad was posted last week, the hip hop world couldn’t stop poking fun at the dramatic fashion in which Soulja Boy recounted the 2008 incident in which he shot a group of burglars in his home, killing one. It’s not a funny story, but the gravity with which Soulja told the story makes it pretty clear he’s had some practice telling (and potentially embellishing) how things went down.
A few people made their own versions of the video in what became the #SouljaBoyChallenge (check those out below), but nothing does the interview justice like Kashajuan Powers' mash up with scenes from the Hype Williams-directed “Belly.” The movie is already an over-the-top hip hop masterpiece starring DMX and Nas, but with Soulja Boy’s narration it goes to the next level. Be sure to stick around the credits, which might be the funniest part of the whole video.
