Iman Shumpert has been teasing a career in the booth since 2016, and this year we got to hear a full-length effort from the athlete in the form of his Substance Abuse EP. Now, Iman has come through with a new offering, featuring a music video starring his wife and singer/actress/dancer Teyana Taylor.
The clip is solely centered on Taylor as she moves around in neon hues to a track clearly penned in her honor. It was back in March that Shumpert penned an open letter that focuses on this new track’s content.
“Love is one of the most powerful and most dangerous things I’ve ever encountered, and within the same breath one of the most beautiful and relevant journeys of my life,” he wrote. “Men are wired on control, pride and sex. When we as men become vulnerable to these things for a woman…she can most likely say for certain he’s in love […] We seek a woman who understands and protects that with her life.”
