Millie Bobby Brown doesn't want to be parented by her followers.

As a child star, Millie Bobby Brown had been shielded from some of the most insidious parts of being a celebrity since she blew for her role in Stranger Things. Unfortunately for her, she has turned fourteen and the commenters on her Instagram have taken this as her blessing to turn her page into an archaic moral debate about whether or not a young lady should show her ankle.
In the photo that has people so worked up, Brown wears a snakeskin dress and heels, a departure from her previous style of dress:

Giving the good people of the internet the free reign to "write a caption" turned out to be a bit of mistake. One commenter joked, “when you hit puberty and think you’re 25,” while others were less interested in humour and more in telling Brown what she should and shouldn't be wearing: “You’re like 12 where tf is your mother,” and "Act your age."
Brown responded on her story, writing “ik everyone on my last pic wants me to “act my age” but quite frankly its my instagram and if I choose to post that picture and you don’t like it… scroll past it).”
After Brown's appeal, the praise started to flow in and eclipse the previous comments, with people calling her "AN INSPIRATION TO YOUNG LADIES EVERYWHERE" and giving advice: "Growing in the spotlight you will be judged and watched with everything. Be true to yourself and keep up good work."
