Solange has come through to make Monday a little sweeter with news of a new album coming before the end of the year. The 32-year-old chatted with The New York Times saying her new tape will be "warm…fluid and more sensual" compared to her last beloved album, A Seat at the Table.
“There is a lot of jazz at the core but with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle," she further noted to the publication, adding how a lot of editing is still happening. Each song on Solange's last tape was 15-minutes long and was cut down to three or four minutes after hours of editing and decision making. "I like to be able to tell the story in 13 different ways, then I like to edit,” she said.
There's no name for the album yet, but we do know that she spent time working on the project in New Orleans Jamaica, and California’s Topanga Canyon so there's sure to be a great vibe to the music.
“I have this fear living in my body about releasing work,” she added. “I don’t know any artist that doesn’t feel that before they hit the send button.”
