The Migos rapper has been learning from one of the greats.

If you've been paying attention to Quavo's social media presence, you'll know that he's been getting into the production side of things. As OnSmash points out, the rapper turned beatmaker recently spoke about his new passion in an interview with Real 92.3.

"I've been going crazy on the fingers, you dig?" said Quavo, responding to Offset's comment that he's one of the producers the group has been working with. After naming DJ Durel, the Migos' DJ, as one of his collaborators, Quavo also revealed he'd been working with Kanye West on some music.

"I did a couple beats with Kanye," he said, without specifying exactly whose project the two were writing for. "It's crazy. He's got a crazy, different feel. He's got all this old shit that he had from coming in making beats that he still uses. His original box, his original keyboards. He's still got his old hard drives and all his samples. Just to see that he still cherish the old stuff that he came in with."

While Ye has been known to break out the MPC in the studio, Quavo is taking a more simple, modern approach to production. "I make my beats on Fruity Loops," he said, refusing to say whether he's on a Mac or a PC. "Y'all won't know too much. Can't give too much drip."

Migos recently revealed that their next studio album Culture II would be released January 26th. It's possible that at least one of the beats Quavo made with Kanye will appear on the project, though the collaborations could be saved for West's upcoming project as well. As long as they see the light of day at some point, we're happy.
