Authorities are revealing more details on this morning's Port Authority explosion.

This morning's attack that took place near Times Square in New York was said to have been carried out as revenge for the recent Israeli actions in Gaza.

Akayed Ullah, a Bangladeshi immigrant living in Brooklyn, is in custody after he let off a homemade pipe bomb near the Port Authority Bus Terminal. CNN reports that authorities are calling the event an "attempted terrorist attack" and Akayed's motive comes after four people were killed in the Palestinian territory by Israeli forces, after Donald Trump declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel just last week. "Let's be clear that this was an attempted terror attack," Mayor Bill de Blasio said. "Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goal."

Akayed is currently being treated at a New York hospital for lacerations and burns to his hands and abdomen. No deaths have been reported, but some are being treated for headaches and ringing in their ears.

The video below shows the moment the bomb went off with people seen jetting the scene with Akayed left laying on the ground. Check out some Twitter reactions below.
