"OVO Unruly, we don't need your help".

Drake and Popcaan have been good friends for some time, and anyone who was following the leaks leading up to the release of VIEWS will know that the dancehall artist featured on an early version of "Controlla". Unfortunately, when the proper album arrived, Popcaan no longer had vocals on the record, something that many fans were disappointed about, including fellow dancehall artist Mr. Vegas, who shared a video in which he criticized Drake for sampling the voices of Popcaan and Beenie Man instead of having them record new vocals. "You using my artists as intro men!” he said, implying Drake was insulting the talent of dancehall artists by denying them features.

As XXL points out, Popcaan has now responded to the comments from Mr. Vegas, sharing a video address, and further solidifying the alignment between his Unruly movement and Drake's OVO. "Don't try to violate my brother now. You don't know anything about Unruly or OVO. You don't need to defend Popcaan," he said. "OVO Unruly, we don't need your help".

Popcaan was also featured on the intro to Drake's "Know Yourself" from If You're Reading This Too Late, but we've yet to hear a proper collaboration from the two beyond the leaked version of "Controlla". From the sounds of Popcaan's latest comments, it seems the two will surely have some new material soon.
