"This was an old video that was private and never meant to go public," the rapper told TMZ.

Nelly has spoken. Earlier today, the 47-year-old broke the internet when an unexpected video of him receiving oral sex from an anonymous woman appeared on his Instagram Story. Although it was only posted for a mere minute, viewers were still quick enough to screen record the footage and subsequently share it to other platforms.

In the hours since, social media has lit up with commentary as people discuss everything from the "Hot In Herre" hitmaker's distinguishable moans to the lack of lubrication that the blowjob appeared to contain.

"After reviewing the Nelly head video he posted to his IG and reading the comment sections, I decided this is a perfect time to say this," one Twitter user wrote earlier this afternoon. "I'm calling all men with average-sized penises to stand up and fight. Not just for Nelly, but for all of us. To ensure a brighter future."

While everyone else can joke about the situation, it's obviously a lot more serious for Nelly and his former hookup. In a statement to TMZ, the Texas-born star said, "I sincerely apologize to the young lady and her family, this is unwanted publicity for her/them. This was an old video that was private and never meant to go public."

For those wondering how the NSFW clip ended up on the Heartland rapper's page in the first place, it's been reported that his team is currently investigating a breach, and are concerned that more of Nelly's private content, "including financial informational, personal documents, and passwords," may have ended up online.
