A British guy named Dale Leeks thought it was funny to list his "used" girlfriend for sale on eBay because he just "wanted to have a laugh.” His supposed harmless move pulled in more attention that he could have ever imagined when the bids reached over $119,000 along with over 81,000 views.
“I thought, ‘Oh no, what have I done?” he told CTV News, describing his reaction to his phone blowing up with notifications.
Dale's description of his girlfriend, Kelly Greaves, did not bring about the best qualities as he described her as having some parts "not working” and wrote that she “starts OK but after that there’s a constant whining noise that I can’t seem to stop. Bodywork is fairly tidy but close up shows signs of wear. No serious damage but you can see that she’s been used."
The posted added: "Please [bear] in mind when bidding she’s 37 years old. Basically first thing in the morning she can be very temperamental, once warmed up the whining noise lessens but I would be lying if I said it goes away completely. The rear end leaks a bit but nothing that can’t be plugged."
The ad got pulled from eBay (obviously) for violating the website’s policy against selling human body parts or remains.
"I would have been quite sad to see [her] go, but it wouldn’t have been so sad ‘cause I would have been crying in my Ferrari or my Lamborghini," Dale added. Wow.
