Man In Jail After Designating January 2nd As "Kill Cops Day"

This week, a man was arrested after posting threats on social media in which he dubbed January 2nd as "Kill Cops Day."

It was Harlan Cyprian, of Covington, Lousiana, who uploaded the messages to his Facebook, raising red flags with other users who alerted officers. According to officials, action was "immediately taken to ensure the safety” of local law enforcement. In his threats, Cyprian also directly referenced a “long-time and high-ranking” in his post.

What's more interesting is that when investigating Cyprian's threats, authorities discovered that he was allegedly involved in a break-in at a local police station on Monday when he used a pick az and broke a window and door at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center. Cyprian has since been taken into custody and charged with felony terrorizing, resisting an officer with force or violence and simple criminal damage to property. 

"Individuals who make life-threatening comments against any of our citizens, particularly against our law enforcement professionals, will be dealt with quickly and to the fullest extent of the law,” says Covington Mayor Mike Cooper in a statement. “I would like to thank the Covington Police Department and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for their immediate actions in identifying, locating and apprehending the suspect.”
