Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick were together for years. Since their breakup, they've stayed close as co-parents of Mason, Penelope and Reign. But this kind of closeness could doubtless become uncomfortable, especially if one of the two began to date a 20-year-old lookalike of the other.
This is what's been happening for about a year now, but it was a specific pair of photos that prompted the recognition of this resemblance. The first was posted by Sofia Richie back in August, when she graduated out of teenagedom:
At the time it was just another Instagram photo. But now, Kourtney's sister, Khloe, posted a photo of her and Kourtney posing in a garage full of bikes, dressed like 90s cyclists, where Kourtney looks an awful lot like a certain someone.
Usually this is the sort of thing that people dig for on the internet, but here it was served up on a silver platter. The woman behind Khloe genuinely looks like Lionel Richie's daughter. Some commenters couldn't tell if they were being played or if this was some kind of pointed joke by the notoriously ruthless Kardashians. One of them wrote, "lmaaoooooo is this shade," while another admitted, "for a minute there i thought it was sophia😂." Another commenter took a more imaginative approach to the interpretation of the photo: "Sofia???? Kourtney??? twins..sister wives."
Maybe this explains the "tense" dinners.
