Rumors of Kim Kardashian's plans to divorce Kanye West and seek custody of their two children are false, according to reality TV star Jonathan Cheban, who is known to be one of Kim's best friends.
"It's so funny to me because it's so not true," Cheban told E! News at the DailyMail.com holiday party, where he had seemingly heard the divorce rumors for the first time. "I don't know where people come up with stories, but it's literally hysterical."
"I just spoke to both of them on FaceTime literally before I was coming here," Cheban went on to reveal, "and when I heard that, I literally just burst out laughing. I feel bad for the reporter."
If Cheban's word is good enough to squash the divorce rumors, it still seems like Kanye and Kim are suffering through a painful stretch in their marriage. Of course, Kanye suffered a mental breakdown last month and was hospitalized for nine days. The month before, Kim was the target of a violent robbery in Paris, which undoubtedly was a contributor to Kanye's unraveling mental state.
As had been reported earlier this month, a source close to Kim has now told Us Weekly today that Kim and Kanye are currently not living together. Kim as well as their two kids, their three-year-old daughter North and one-year-old son Saint, have apparently been staying with Kris Jenner since Kanye was released from the hospital.
“Kanye has not seen the kids very much since he was released and Kim does not think he should," says the same source. "She has no plans for them all to live together.” It is unclear if Kim is waiting to for Kanye to recuperate before discussing their children's living situation, or if she is wholly against them staying in the same place as their father.
To make matters more complicated, Us Weekly spoke to a source close to Kanye, who says the kids are "at home" with both parents, denying rumors that they are being kept away from Kanye at Kris Jenner's house.
