No wonder it's so good.

Pi'erre Bourne is the young man with the most enjoyable producer's tag since "If Young Metro don't trust you, I'm gon' shoot you." Pi'erre and Playboi Carti have struck gold with their new anthem, "Magnolia," and the track wouldn't be such a thrill were it not for the drop that starts it off: "Yo Pi'erre, you wanna come out here?" It turns out those words were spoken by none other than Jamie Foxxx.

Yep, Pi'erre's tag is a sample taken from The Jamie Foxx Show. During the episode in question, Foxx is waiting a table for a blind man, and he decides to summon a (nonexistent) French chef, whom he names Pierre. That's when he utters the now-iconic command.

Though the mystery of the tag was part of its appeal, learning of its context on The Jamie Foxx Show makes it even better. We wonder if Foxx himself has heard "Magnolia" yet. Speaking of, the song was recently given an unauthorized remix by Tory Lanez, and both Pie'rre and Carti called him out for it.

Foxx says the phrase that Pi'erre has adopted at around the 0:44 mark in the below video.

Pie'rre produced six tracks on Carti's new mixtape, including the Lil Uzi Vert-featuring "Woke Up Like This." Stream Playboi Carti here
