J Dilla’s posthumous album released a couple weeks ago, giving us an in-depth look at J Dilla’s emcee skills as well as his production chops. However, those production skills are what Dilla became known for, and we’ve also been blessed with new instrumental work from the deceased beat maker.
“Baby” is an exclusive bonus track that can only be found on the deluxe edition of Dilla’s fourth album Jay Love Japan. It joins three other bonus tracks that appear on the album’s rerelease. The track features a looped vocal sample and funky baseline. Jay Dee’s instrumentals are indescribably listenable, and “Baby” is no different.
