On his most recent effort, the New Jersey-bred Ish Williams bares it all as he tackles the issues of mental health and depression in an outing co-produced by Army Zenn and Kenif Muse.
Opening up with a sample a brief monologue from Dragon Ball-Z character Goku, the backdrop takes on an arcade-like theme as Ish waxes poetic about looking toward a better outlook in the midst of hardships. "Flex on my ex, today/ Make them regret today/ Yea, I was mad and low-key sad/ but that was yesterday," Williams unleashes. "See I was going through it/ see, everybody go through it/ but today is a new day."
Taking on a narrative that steps away from the cuts that pepper Ish's catalog, "Life$aver" is a well-received nod toward transparency.
