A while back a video surfaced of Idris Elba on vacation putting in time on a mixing boarding and bumping to some music. With news of his new record label 7Wallace Music as well as his first artist, James BKS, it now all makes sense - the man is really into music despite being a famous actor.

According to Billboard, James is a French artist who has worked with Diddy and Talib Kweli. He now lives in Paris and runs the creative house Grown Kid that composes music for famous fashion houses. Along the way, James connected with his biological father from Cameroon and fell in love with African music. On July 13th, James' first single "Kwlele" featuring Dibango and Allan Kingdom will be released and will be a cohesive blend of hip-hop and Afro vibes.

"I want people to get to know my journey. The song is the musical answer to my inner questions. Finally I can be proud of my roots and say this music is fully me."

Idra added: "James is a rare find," Idris told the publication. "His hip-hop sensibilities transfer to the other music he makes, he's a nice person to work with and is gonna be a strong artist in the future. It's a huge move for 7Wallace, a small indie label."
