They Want Su!

Iamsu! is an artist who's consistency may have relegated him to underrated status. Unlike someone like Frank Ocean, who generates hype through his long absences, Iamsu! has kept his pop-inclined Bay Area jams coming at a steady clip, which means he's creating less of a spectacle with each of his releases. However, for those paying attention, Su is very clearly at the top of his game, and like his previous 2016 project Kilt 3, the surprise-released 6 Speed is wall-to-wall hits, with Su producing the majority of the tracks, and demonstrating a melodic control that's more effective than ever. "They Want Su!" is one of the few records on the project that doesn't feature some prominently sung vocals, but maintains an earworm-y quality nonetheless. The full project can be streamed here.
