In late February, Chicago rapper G Herbo dropped off the most powerful album of his career thus far in PTSD, a project that explored trauma as felt by many young men and women in his situation. And while Herbo made sure to honor the weight of the theme throughout the project, he still made time for the occasional banger. The same can be said about his brand new Deluxe Edition, which happens to feature a hard-hitting duet with Lil Uzi Vert called "Like This."
Produced by Chase Davis and DJ Victoriouz, "Like This" immediately strikes an intimidating tone through metallic synthesizers ringing off in relentless fashion. Establishing a back-and-forth flow scheme off the bat, Herbo and Lil Uzi trade four-bar schemes delivered with a refreshing intensity. Lyrically, the occasion seems to call for braggadocio and that's what both men opt to deliver. Whether scheming on ways to seduce the girlfriends of the world, or simply readying their small armories for any conflict that might arise, all bases are covered on "Like This."
