It's official, FKA Twigs has dropped off her new track "Cellophane" marking her celebrated return to releasing solo music. The English singer, songwriter, dancer and all-round creative individual announced her single just yesterday with a photo of herself leaned on a stripper pole.
"Throughout my life I’ve practiced my way to being the best I could be, it didn’t work this time. I had to tear down every process I'd ever relied on. go deeper. rebuild. start again. cellophane is coming, tomorrow," she wrote.
Today we have now received the project in full, with a video that shows Twigs performing some impressive moves on a pole before she comes in contact with a very modernized phoenix that transports her to a different world. "When I wrote cellophane over a year ago a visual narrative came to me immediately, I knew I had to learn how to pole-dance to bring it to life, and so that’s what I did," Twigs shared on Instagram.
The song is something we would expect from Twigs - deep, touching and heartfelt in all the right ways. The single sets the tone for what we can expect and we're ready whenever she is.
