Eminem and Dr. Dre didn't take long to mesh as a team.

Eminem and Dr. Dre have long been known as high-profile collaborators responsible for a multitude of hit records. To further that mythos, the two reminisced about creating a hip-hop classic in a new clip from The Defiant Ones.

Eminem definitely showed his idol some respect when they first met, call Dre "one of [his] biggest influences ever in life," while Dre recalled Eminem's flashy outerwear upon arriving to their first meeting. However, when it came time to get down to business musically, the magic happened almost right away.

"I had a studio in my house at the time, and I went and I put some samples together and did a couple of things in the drum machine and I did a lot of recording [...] I hit the drum machine, and maybe two or three seconds went by and he just went 'Hi! My name is…my name is…' [I was] like, 'Yo! Stop. Shit’s hot.'" Not bad for a first studio session.
