"Atlanta" season two gets an official release date.

While fans have been patiently awaiting news on Donald Glover's critically acclaimed series Atlanta, FX have finally come through with the official premiere date: March 1st at 10 p.m. In case you missed it, star LaKeith Stanfield, who plays starring character Darrius in the series, originally revealed a February release date, before trolling fans with all manner of wild dates like "FEBRUARY 2020." Suffice it to say, the wait will not be that agonizing, and we'll be able to catch the next chapter soon enough.

Apparently, Stanfield's claims that the second season will be titled Atlanta Robbin' Season is indeed correct, but other than that, any new information is rather scarce. Variety, who broke the news, confirms that Glover's Earn and Brian Tyree Henry's Paper Boi will continue their ascent to hip-hop's upper mobility, which isn't exactly groundbreaking news. Still, it stands to reason that fans can expect more of the surreal vibes that helped elevate Donald Glover's brainchild into something else entirely.

In the same press release, FX also revealed the release date for the new season of The Americans, should you be interested in that series. If so, be sure to tune in on March 28th. In the meantime, stay patient for Atlanta's return by reading up on our latest Gambino feature, exploring the need for a new album from the talented Mr. Glover. Luckily, all signs point to Childish Gambino releasing another album - it's only a matter of when. Ultimately, 2018 is shaping up to be a massive year for the rapper slash actor slash writer.
