On October twenty-ninth, Florida rapper Denzel Curry announced "Sumo," the first single of his upcoming Taboo single, which was teased with a mystery guest appearance. Yesterday, Denzel came through with an Instagram Live session for an energetic freestyle, and while that was dope, the final moments of the stream held the biggest surprise. Zeltron Six Billion announced that the mystery "Sumo" guest would be none other than fellow Floridian Ski Mask The Slump God, who has been quietly emerging as one of 2017's hardest working up-and-comers. Ski Mask has already collaborated with A$AP Ferg, Timbaland, Offset, and Busta Rhymes, and while Denzel Curry is still a young artist, he remains a well respected rapper with a deep discography.

While we have yet to land a Taboo release date, Denzel Curry assured fans that the project is nearly complete, and that they "would know" when it was finished. As of yesterday, Curry said he only had three more songs to finish, as well as a few minor changes to make. It seems likely that Denzel will opt for an 2018 release, but that doesn't mean that Sumo won't be dropping earlier? In the original announcement tweet, Denzel threw in every fan's favorite two words - "coming soon." However, his attitude in the video (captured by a keen-eyed r/hiphopheads user) suggests that their collaboration will be dropping sooner rather than later.

Ski Mask and Denzel Curry previously collaborated at the 2017 BET Cypher, where they both held it down with standout verses. However, they have a deeper history; the pair once rapped together on the infamous Florida cut "Spaceghostpussy," which featured Ski Mask & XXXTentacion before the fame. If you haven't heard that track, you can check that little piece of Florida hip-hop history below. In the mean time, stay tuned for Taboo, "Sumo" ft Ski Mask The Slump God, and Denzel Curry's upcoming comic book Black Metal Terrorist.
