The film is quickly gearing out to have a massive debut weekend this coming February.

With its February 16 release date inching closer and closer, the hype surrounding Ryan Coogler's Black Panther sees no sign of simmering just yet, as new reports suggest this could be one of the most lucrative and successful films in the Marvel franchise.

Erik Davis, an editor from ticket sale site Fandango, tweeted out that this latest Marvel venture may be its biggest yet, as Black Panther has now secured the spot as having the most advanced tickets sold in 24 hours, effectively besting the previous milestone held by Captain America: Civil War

Furthermore, Davis has noted how "Black Panther is riding an incredible wave of momentum right now. It’s one of the biggest and most anticipated movies to ever open in the month of February, and its trailers have electrified the Internet. Tickets have been going fast ever since presales started on Fandango late Monday."

However, no concrete number has been given for this film, or any of Marvel's other cinematic endeavours.

Captain America opened to 179 million in May of 2016, and while these early projections may not materialize in such a staggering debut, Black Panther has a lot working in its favour. Firstly, the film has definitely become the most talked about release of 2018 thus far, giving it a strong word-of-mouth amongst moviegoers. Secondly, it will be released over President's Day weekend, allowing the film to rake in some extra cash throughout the holiday. Also, the original Kendrick Lamar soundtrack will also help bolster its ubiquity, while also adding to its mass appeal.
