The Steelers are committed to their Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been under a microscope as of late thanks to controversy with Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown saying Big Ben isn't a good teammate or leader. Former running back Rashard Mendenhall even called Roethlisberger a racist although he quickly walked back that claim and apologized.

Despite all of this controversy, the Steelers are committed to Roethlisberger as they announced today that he has been signed to a 3-year year deal. Roethlisberger had one year left on his current deal and the Steelers gave him two extra seasons, tying him to the team until 2021. Roethlisberger spoke about the signing on the team's website.

"I am grateful to the Rooneys and the Steelers organization for continuing to believe in me," Roethlisberger said. "It has always been a goal to play my entire career in Pittsburgh. This is home for me and my family, and we love this city. I am as excited to be a Steeler in year 16 as I was when they drafted me. They will get my absolute best."

With Brown and Bell gone from the team, the Steelers surely had enough cap space to be able to give Roethlisberger the deal he wanted.
