OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib kicked things off on tonight's episode of OVO Sound Radio, and he used his set to introduce a newly freed OVO affiliate and member of the Reps Up family, Baka AKA Not Nice. Baka featured on Nothing Was the Same, and we heard Drake shout him out on "Know Yourself." Now it finally seems it's Baka's year, and he made his OVO Sound debut tonight with "AKA," produced by Murda Beatz.
After producing many a hit for the Migos, the 21-year-old beatman is back on his home soil spreading his sound around the 6. The production is a little slower than Murda's Atlanta sauce, and it's got a dark ambience that's the perfect backdrop for Baka's steady, confident flow. Baka's got his own sauce, too, with his unique delivery and spontaneous vocal inflections, and we imagine "AKA" is gonna take off in the 6 and beyond.
"AKA" is the first track off Baka's upcoming mixtape, on which you can expect more appearances from Murda Beatz.
