Angela Bassett is a Queen. Matter fact, she's more like a Goddess. Bassett has been featured in some of the most influential and popular movies of the last three decades, including Boyz n the Hood, Malcolm X, Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Akeelah and the Bee, Notorious, Black Panther, and Mission: Impossible – Fallout. It's hard to mistake Bassett for anyone else, as she is one of a kind. Actress, activists, and legend, Bassett's presence inspires awe and demands respect. Somehow, The New York Times mistook Bassett for former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman.
"We regret running an incorrect caption from a photo wire service in some early print editions. We will issue a correction in tomorrow's paper," wrote the Times on Twitter after catching their own error. Bassett replied on Twitter with a simple GIF from Scandal. "Hey Everybody, no worries! xoAng," she wrote, opting to take the high road.

Despite Bassett's indifference to the error, her fans took to Twitter to clap back at The Times. "It's not just that NY Times misidentified Angela Bassett as Omarosa," wrote one user. "It's that someone who has a job on the photo desk of the NY Times can't tell Angela Bassett and Omarosa apart.
That should be a basic requirement in that job."
