Mayo to play for San German amid NBA suspension.

O.J. Mayo has reportedly signed a deal with San German in the Puerto Rican basketball league amid his NBA suspension, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Mayo, the third overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, was issued a two-year suspension from the NBA in 2016 for violating the league's anti-drug program. He will be eligible to be reinstated this Summer.

Mayo broke into the league with the Memphis Grizzlies after starring at USC and had the best statistical season of his career in his rookie year when he averaged 18.5 points a night and earned All-Rookie first-team honors. After four seasons with the Grizz, Mayo spent a year in Dallas before joining the Milwaukee Bucks for three seasons.

The 30-year old guard last played for the Bucks during the 2015-16 season, where he averaged 7.8 points, 2.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 26.6 minutes per game.
