The Bay Area installment of the Rolling Loud festival kicks off today at the Shoreline Amphiteater in Mountain View, California. For those who won't be attending, REVOLT is live-streaming the entire event this weekend. Day 1 is set to feature performances from Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, Lil B, G Herbo, XXXTentacion, Smokepurpp, Nef The Pharaoh, Ugly God, and more.
It was recently announced that the formerly Miami-based festival is expanding to California (Bay Area and Southern California), China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. In a press release about the announcement, co-founder Tariq Cherif said: "Rolling Loud is the #1 hip-hop festival in the world. After selling out three consecutive years in a row in Miami, it's time to take the Rolling Loud experience on the road. Rap music is the most popular and fastest growing genre of music, and the world deserves to experience curated lineups of its champions."
While the expansion promises a wider reach for Rolling Loud, Zingler promises that each region will remain true to its artistic roots. Not only that, he also confirms that Miami will remain the flagship show: "Each show will feature a different assortment of hip-hop's biggest superstars as well as underground heavyweights. Miami will remain as our home and premier event as we establish the Rolling Loud brand around the world."
The Southern California show is set to take place in December 2017, while the remaining shows in China, Japan, and the UK will take place in 2018. The festival will also return to Miami in May 2018.
