Snoop Dogg was recently interviewed by TV One after his performance at the 33rd Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Snoop Dogg was quick to dispel critics who have adjudged his Gospel turn as inauthentic and insulting to the genre, revealing that the music was very much in him from the beginning.

Snoop's decision to make a Gospel album came down to principle. Believe it or not, Snoop is a Born Again Christian, and in his words, he wanted to "put his money where his mouth is," and make a solid contribution to the cause of Christ. Snoop wanted to step away from the consumer-driven approach of his earlier albums, save for the last few.

Snoop outlined his view as the following:

"We're trying to get people back in church with a different perspective of come as you are, show love. We show love, we give love. What about you? Have you checked your status? Are you going to heaven? Why are you judging me? How much have you done for the Lord?"

Bible of Love
continues to sit atop the Gospel Chart with no sign of budging any time soon. Peep the interview down below.
