Rappers Lil Wayne (L) and Drake perform onstage during the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards held at Staples Center on January 31, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.

Drizzy took a moment to publicly acknowledge Wayne's impact on his life.

Lil Wayne is one of the most influential and important figures in hip hop. The New Orleans born rapper's career has stretched for over 20 years. Mind you, he's had his fair share of trials and tribulations through it all. However, Wayne is still regarded as one of the best rappers in the game. Today, he celebrates his 35th birthday. While many people in hip hop have been sending him birthday wishes, one of his protege's had a heartfelt message for him.

Drake took to Instagram to share a public birthday wish to Lil Wayne. The picture has Weezy in some OVO gear while the caption read, "Happy Birthday bossssssy! Thank you for the endless tools and the inspiration! I would have been lost at how to maneuver this game without watching you do it first. I remember when they told you that it was impossible to build a skate ramp on your roof...and then I came back and you were skating on your roof. Please never change. Love for life." It's evident that Drake wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Lil Wayne. Weezy saw the talent in Drake early in his career and helped him launch it to the position it is today. He helped create the Drake we know today.

After Wayne's recent health scare earlier in the month, he bounced back from it pretty quickly. Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, said that regardless of what the doctors recommended, Wayne was going to get back into the studio because he's a work-a-holic. Shortly after he was released from the hospital, Damian Lillard and Scott Storch posted separate pictures of themselves in the studio with him. While Damian Lillard's collaboration with Weezy came out last week, there's no indication when the collab with Scott Storch will surface. Aside from those two, Weezy was recently spotted in the studio with up-and-comer Trippie Redd.

Hopefully with all this work in the studio, Tha Carter 5 will finally see the light of day.
