As if Disney isn't already taking over the world with Black Panther, Avengers Infinity War, and Solo: A Stars Wars Story, the billion-dollar entertainment company has announced the release date of their new streaming app for ESPN. The sports subsidiary of Disney has been looking for an app to lure fans away from other streaming platforms, and they hope that ESPN+ will do the trick.

Via ESPN Media Zone, ESPN+ will launch on April 12, and it will cost $5 a month. The streaming app will offer a live Major League Baseball game every day throughout the regular season. The app will also give users a daily schedule of National Hockey League games throughout the upcoming 2018-2019 regular season. Major League Soccer fans will be treated to exclusive content for out-of-market schedules. Subscribers in the Chicago-area will also be able to watch in-market Chicago Fire games. College games, boxing bouts, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, PGA Tour events, international rugby, and international cricket matches will also be available through ESPN+. If subscribers want to drop a little extra cash ($25), they can stream the entire MLB package, including out-of-market games. An NHL all-inclusive package will be offered as well.

ESPN President and Co-Chair James Pitaro stated, “ESPN was built on a belief in innovation and the powerful connection between sports and a remarkable array of fans. That same belief is at the heart of ESPN+ and the new ESPN App. With ESPN+, fans have access to thousands more live games, world class original programs and on-demand sports content, all at a great price.  They will get all of that as a part of a completely re-imagined, increasingly personalized ESPN App that provides easy, one-stop access to everything ESPN offers.”
