Bishop Nehru's often been hailed for his lyrical prowess and with his latest album, Elevators: Act I & II, he continues to prove that his pen game is as sharp as ever. The rapper's latest project was lead by the DOOM produced single, "Rooftops." The song is filled with potent metaphor and wordplay so we got Bishop in our office to breakdown the bars on the single for the latest episode of "Between The Lines."
On the latest episode of "Between The Lines," Bishop Nehru came down to break down some of the bars on "Rooftops." One line that particularly stood out on the song is, "If a tree fall in a forest and you ain't near/ Does it still make a sound or does sound disappear?" Nehru explained that the line is actually a metaphor to his career.
"It's like a philosophical question, 'if a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?' And obviously, I was playing on the fact that it does make a sound, nobody could just hear it and kind of just relating it to my career metaphorically," he explains. "Just the fact that if I'm dropping music and nobody's hearing it, doesn't mean that good music isn't being released and eventually people will hear it."
