After a brief hiatus, Los Angeles rapper Free Ackrite is back with a new track entitled "Gorilla Gang." With a steely instrumental and some tough-sounding bars, this is a dark banger for the native of the West Coast's sunniest state. Hahstagged with "Inglewood," there's no doubt that the emcee chose to bring some decided hometown flavor to this record.
In general, there's no new ground broken here for Free Ackrite, but that isn't a bad thing either. Using the menacing bass lines and haunting piano chords together to create a sound that is uniquely his and almost a throwback at times to the West Coast gangsta days of yore, this outing will no doubt solidify Ackrite's status as a rapper to continue monitoring in 2018, despite his most recent hiatus for a good chunk of last year.
