Big K.R.I.T hits up The Breakfast Club

Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. recently delivered his potential magnum opus, the double-album 4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time. So far, early word is that the album stands among K.R.I.T.'s best work, and it's no surprise that there's a compelling narrative behind the project. Speaking of which, the rapper recently hit up The Breakfast Club for a conversation with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy, in which they discussed 4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time, alcoholism, materialism, and much more.

K.R.I.T. goes on to talk about his semi-autobiographical track "Price Of Fame," describing the backstory surrounding the track:

"It's a reflection how far I got in my career at one point. You going out, you partying all that stuff, and you get back home and there's nobody to really share your successes with for real. So you find yourself indulging in your vices, and normally surrounding yourself around people who only there for the moment...I started chasing all these accolades and seeing what my peers had, becoming super competitive, and I wasn't living life either. I kind of dialed it back and started paying attention to my surroundings and what I was doing to myself not only on a health level, but on a mental level."

He proceeds to reveal that he's been slowing down on the drinking, and, ever the romantic, thanks his girl for her role in his newfound perspective. It's a pretty inspirational interview, and K.R.I.T's newfound lease on life really makes you appreciate his new album even more. It's always nice when an interview makes you appreciate an artist even more, and K.R.I.T's humility and intelligence are most definitely refreshing.
