New York rapper Dougie B was arrested on the night of May 11 by NYPD officers. Very little information is currently available aside from a brief video of the rapper being led to a police car by officers. The charges he was arrested on are currently unknown. According to video footage of the arrest, Dougie B was the only individual being arrested by New York City police officers.

However, it's not the first time that the rapper has been arrested. In April 2022, Dougie B was arrested outside a courthouse in the Bronx following reports of gunfire. Dougie B was one of several men arrested in the aftermath of a car collision. The outcome of that charge is also unknown, as Dougie B remains outside the mainstream spotlight.

Dougie B Arrested

As mentioned, very little is currently known about why Dougie B was arrested last night. In the video posted by Please Don't Lack and reshared by No Jumper, Dougie B can be heard asking why he is being arrested. No information has emerged about the charges he has been arrested on. While New York is one of the few states that requires officers to inform someone why they are being arrested, that is a very loosely applied law. Social media users have begun to call for Dougie's release, using the hashtag "FreeDougieB". This has become something of a common occurrence as of late.

Dougie B is an up-and-comer in the New York drill scene. Furthermore, he gained wider acclaim for his work with Cardi B as well as the Nobody Bigger mixtape. However, drill rap's perceived link to gang culture has led it to become heavily scrutinized by New York City Mayor Eric Adams. In February 2022, Adams met with several prominent drill artists to discuss weighs the community could help reduce gang and gun violence. Despite this, Adams has gone as far as to say that he wants to ban drill rap. This is a developing story and you can expect more updates as and when we get them.
