Jefferson's career was one that everyone had an eye on. According to TMZ, "Jefferson, who began his college career at Alabama State, was a star Louisiana last season -- logging 51 catches for 810 yards and seven TDs. He showed up to the combine in Indianapolis last month and performed well, running a 4.56 40-yard dash." Those numbers and speed are something that would have for sure caught the eye of scouts around the league.

Jefferson's NFL dreams may have to be on hold for the time being. However, his health is the most important thing right now. The draft is just mere days away, and a story like this is hard to fathom. Fans of Louisiana's football program will rally around Jefferson and his family during this trying time. There has been no word on how the horrifying accident transpired on Monday night. The only thing that we can shift our focus on is hoping the medical professionals tending to Jefferson can help him overcome such a tragedy.
