It looks like Lil Durk and Kodak Black have new music on the way.

With a new album on the way, Lil Durk apparently has some heavy hitters on the tracklist. Over the past few months, Durk’s hinted at the release of his follow-up to 7220, though nothing’s really come of it. At one point, he said that his project would randomly drop at midnight on a Saturday, though that never materialized. However, he’s assured fans that it’s some of his best work yet and we hope that he follows through on that promise.

It seems like one person we might be able to expect on the tracklist is Kodak Black. This morning, Durk took to Instagram where he shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Yak. In another post, he wrote, “@kodakblack what we doing let’s pop out.” Unfortunately, neither have shared any snippets of music to confirm this collab but it seems quite likely that we’ll hear them on the same track at some point in the near future.

Durk’s had nothing but good things to say about Kodak Black over the years. Last year, the Chicago rapper sat down with the Full Send Podcast where he called the Florida rapper one of the few rappers who have hip-hop on lock. I listen to a few artists who really keep me on my toes,” he responds. “I’m gonna name my three, not the three the world already know. [Lil] Baby, I’m gonna say Kodak [Black]. This is not including like the Thugs and Futures now. I’m sayin’ 21 Savage,” he said.

Durk and Kodak Black have worked together on numerous occasions in the past. In 2018, Durk enlisted the Sniper Gang founder for their collab, “Benihana” off of Signed To The Streets III. However, their collaborative streak expanded further in 2022 when Durk returned the favor on Back For Everything. The “Laugh Now Cry Later” rapper delivered a stand-out verse on “Take You Back.” Hopefully, the collaboration won’t stay in the vault for too long and we’ll see a release date soon. Check out Lil Durk’s post with Kodak Black on Instagram above and let us know who you wanna see on the follow-up to 7220.
