Their last album "GMB" released in 2012.

Los Angeles emcee trio Pac Div (for Pacific Division) have been pretty quiet as a unit since they released their last album GMB in 2012. They originally broke onto the scene in the late 2000s, with a similar style to The Cool Kids and Chip The Ripper. In a recent interview with DJ Booth, the trio’s de facto ringleader Like revealed that Pac Div has a new album ready to drop called First Baptist.

Like has been the most visible member of the group, producing great tracks on Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City and Anderson .Paak’s Malibu. During the interview, he reveals the new Pac Div album is “done” and is “about to come out.” The only release date he gives is “spring time,” which happens to be right on our collective doorstep.

One of Pac Div’s signature traits was their impeccable beat selection and producer connections (probably helped by Like’s own production chops), and based on the producers line up for Pac Div’s new album, we have a lot to look forward to.

“We got myself on production, wee got [DJ] Dahi, we got Swiff D, we had KAYTRANADA, but we’re gonna save that for another project, and we got esta. from Soulection,” Like said. “It’s 10 cuts on there and we’re gonna give away a song, too. Man we’re excited. There’s a lot of high energy songs. It’s like we never left.”

The icing on the cake is that there may be a second project soon to come after First Baptist. Revisit their classic eponymous track below.
