"No one I’d rather talk sports or life with," Skip wrote on Twitter.

Lil Wayne shut down Rolling Loud this weekend. As fans anticipate the upcoming release of Tha Carter VI, the Louisiana rapper emerged with an incredible set including a surprise appearance from Nicki Minaj. Fans were undoubtedly excited to see Wayne in the flesh, especially since he’s fresh off of the release of “Kant Nobody” ft. DMX and Swizz Beatz. Wayne tore through new records and fan favorites as Rolling Loud welcomed him with open arms.

For someone like Lil Wayne who lives and breathes his craft, you might wonder how Weezy gets right before a show. Is he skateboarding through the festival grounds? Smoking an ounce? Lil Wayne maintains a mysterious presence and not many have access to his life outside of rap. Ultimately, he maintains a relatively private life for someone who stands as one of the greatest rappers alive. However, there are a select few who’ve grown a strong bond with Lil Wayne over the years, such as Skip Bayless. The two have an unexpected friendship that extends in and out of the entertainment industry.

It turns out that Lil Wayne was hanging out with sports commentator and Undisputed host Skip Bayless before his performance. Bayless hit Twitter this weekend where he revealed that he hung out with Wayne before his performance at Rolling Loud where they discussed everything from music to life.“Ernestine and I spent the afternoon at Lil Wayne’s house talking life and music and sports before he left to headline tonight’s Rolling Loud concert at SoFi,” he wrote in a tweet, along with a photo of himself and Wayne.

He later shared another photo alongside his wife, Ernestine, at Lil Wayne’s home. “No one I’d rather talk sports or life with. I always learn something. Love you, brother,” he wrote. Wayne and Bayless’s relationship is undoubtedly one that most wouldn’t expect. However, in recent years, Wayne has paid many visits to discuss sports on Bayless’s show. The two are so close that Wayne actually allowed Skip Bayless to borrow his Lamborghini that he was allegedly gifted by a Saudi Crown Prince for a misunderstanding at an airport.
