Syd's newly-released "Treading Water" was set to be included on The Internet singer's debut album Fin before she had to "cut it."
Now available on her SoundCloud for free, it seems likely that Syd was not able to keep the song due to the instrumental being placed on Big Sean and Jhene Aiko's TWENTY88 project. Steve Lacy (of The Internet) and Flip Colson's guitar-driven production can be heard on "Selfish."
Syd's take is a lighter, breathier, and jazzier interpretation, and serves as a great compliment to her debut album. Stream her Fin project here.
