Hip-Hop Head

Your Old Droog links with The Alchemist on "Hip-Hop Head".

Your Old Droog is an unapologetic traditionalist, to the point that there was an early conspiracy theory that he was actually Nas using another alternative pseudonym. Being the 90s-obsessive that he is, Alchemist is a good match for him, and the two come through with some nostalgia on "Hip-Hop Head," which finds Droog meeting up with a girl who knows her rap, at one point reciting Inspectah Deck's "Triumph" verse during a sexual encounter.

The whole concept of the song is absurd as its sounds, but Droog pulls it off. We're still waiting on an official LP from the rapper, which we hope to see later this year.

Quotable Lyrics:
I met her at a rap show, unfortunately underground
There was no girls, she was the only one around
Got so tight when they threw that Drake on
So all night we built on how we love Raekwon
Ghostface, Premier, references had me stupefied
Like, you 25, how the fuck you know 'bout Do Or Die?
