Shieeeet. Kevin Gates has been heavy in the news lately, because of his swift kick hitting a fan in the chest at his Florida show. Yesterday, news circulated that the Baton Rouge rapper would be charged with simple battery for the chest-kick-- the woman he kicked reportedly had to go to the hospital after the incident, and suffered injuries.
Rather than the go the usual 'release a statement through a publicist' route, Gates puts his thoughts down on wax. "The Truth" is just that-- Kevin gets brutally honest about himself and about the circumstances surrounding the incident. "Man in the mirror you way outta order/go to jail, who gon' look out for your daughter?" he starts, criticizing himself. Nonetheless the female fan isn't free from criticism either-- "you a queen and you wasn't respecting yourself."
