According to Sevyn Streeter, the Philadelphia 76ers' cancelled her National Anthem performance because of her "We Matter" jersey.

Sevyn Streeter was originally set to perform the National Anthem for the Philadelphia 76ers’ home opener Wednesday night against the Oklahoma Thunder, but unfortunately things didn’t go as planned. Minutes before the R&B songstress was ready to take center court, the 76ers’ pulled the plug on her performance due to her “We Matter” jersey she had on.

Sevyn took to twitter to post the following clip (see below)… “I’m at the 76ers game singing the National Anthem and the organization is telling me I can’t because I’m wearing a ‘We Matter’ jersey.”

Following their decision, the 76ers organization made a statement of their own to Philadelphia’s ABC 6 Action News, which read…“The Philadelphia 76ers organization encourages meaningful actions to drive social change. We use our games to bring people together, to build trust and to strengthen our communities. As we move from symbolic gestures to action, we will continue to leverage our platform to positively impact our community.”

Peep her tweet below and let us know what you think of the 76ers’ decision in the comments.
